Pricing your book is not an exact science.

There are many factors to consider when deciding on a price for your book. For example, an established author can charge more than a first-time author. A longer, more ‘academic’ book can be much more expensive than a romance novella.

Authors’ goals also differ. Perhaps you’re happy to give away copies for free to spread your message and grow your fan base, or perhaps you want to make as much money as possible. And, as always, what the competition is doing will play a big part in determining a sensible price.

Both Amazon and Ingram have tools that you can use to calculate your potential royalties. Use them to play around with different prices and earning scenarios to find the one that’s right for your book!
